A Dorset based food manufacturer came to us for cold room storage following their recent expansion into new markets, they were specifically looking for storage of their new vegan range. The remit was to provide an area that was suitable for holding fresh and frozen produce prior to dispatch.
How the Cold Room Storage will be used
The client wanted a purpose-built area to store chilled and frozen vegan food in large quantities safely on sturdy cold room shelving, ready for distribution and near the loading bay at the rear of the factory. The cold room racking allows the client to stack prepared food in easy access locations to enable frequent stock rotation and safe moving and handling.
Cold Room Storage Solution Overview
Our client opted for a hybrid chiller shelving system with a separate walk-in freezer shelving section to the back of the cold room storage area to store both chilled and frozen vegan products ready for transportation to the retailer. When using shelving and racking for cold rooms and freezers, it’s essential clients choose metals and woods that won’t be susceptible to mould or damp!
The Outcome
We were able to help our client through all phases of their new project including the design, supply of durable materials and finally the installation of the cold room and walk-in freezer set up. Our client was so pleased with the installation we are now working with their engineers to re-design the area where they keep fresh herbs, vegetables, fruit, and other key ingredients.
